A good friend was into prospecting so we ended up heading to the WA goldfields every winter for 5/6 yrs and 4/5mths each time. Just another excuse to walk around enjoying the bush with the feeling of at least making progress... Outback WA is fascinating, stark, harsh, subtle, beautiful. Even saltbush flats and salt lakes or further north around the Pilbra, nowhere near a National Park, places that most people would just drive past.
