Wow, that is remote. Two days walk to get in. Any construction material would need to be helicoptered in.
It absolutely should be part of the national park. My guess is the owners are trying to convince NPWS to give them a decent price by putting it on the market. I've seen similar occur elsewhere.

I was thinking along the same lines. Not sure how they got the $85K price tag. Seems a bit high for something so remote.

What type of experiments could you do, that wouldn't also be prohibited for reasons other than being on government land?

The only practical advantage I can think of is that when there is a Park Fire Ban but not a Total Fire Ban, you would be able to have a campfire here because it's outside the jurisdiction of the Park.

Must be a good story on why that parcel was left out of the NP.

It's marked on the current topo, a little green shape surrounded by NP. This is actually the first time I've had a use for those marked np boundaries.. Usually they just annoy my nav

Looking at this map: https://www.waternsw.com.au/__data/asse ... 2016-2.pdf. The property would appear to be just outside the red Warragamba Special Area. Access on foot and camping would appear to be permitted.
