Googling - something different

Thu 25 Apr, 2013 10:47 pm

Have you notice some of the interesting things you can do with Google these days. Using keyword like "convert", "calculate", "define", "Time" and "Translate".

Temperature / measurement conversion.
Just type the key word convert in front of your conversion.
    Here are two examples:
convert 10 c to f. Which will result in 10°C being converted to 50°F
convert 10 mile to k. Which should be obvious enough.

Calculations.
Just type the key word calculate in front of the maths.
    e.g. Calculate 100/16

Definitions
Just type the key word "define" in front of any word in order to get a definition of the word.
    define range

Time
Just type the keyword time to get the current time and date, or type time CItyName to get the time in that city.
    e.g. time Madrid

Translations

Does anyone know any others that work?

These features have been around for years :)

The tools have been around for several years, but the interactive interface is relatively new. Six to 12 mths maybe? I use define and calculate (especially for currency exchange) often and only recently noticed the new look.

Edit: See here for more.

And yet they still haven't changed that ugly late 90's layout with the magnificent "html blue"...
