Overturned Bobcat at Home

Tue 06 Oct, 2009 8:17 am

We had live entertainment while eating out dinner last night. Not only did we get to watch two Bobcats whizzing around excavating and moving dirt around our house and garden (in preparation for building a shed out the back), but one of them overturned right in front of our dining room in the middle of dinner.

Our next door neighbours (and friends) and their visitors were also lined up against their windows last night and this morning. :-) It's a pity we weren't selling tickets.

Thankfully nobody was hurt.

Former world superbike campion, Malcom Campbell, was called in to assist the guys. He arrived with his backhoe to lift the Bobcat back onto its wheels, just as I was leaving for work. Apparently he gets a lot of calls for overturned Bobcats, but has rolled his own backhoe once as well.

You think with his experience at keeping things upright, he could manage a bobcat !!!

I think the problem is that its not a CAT.

I may be a little bias.

Don't be so sure about CAT...
Right place, right time.

Yikes!

There's a good video going around (within CAT rings) showing a heap of trucks, excavators and the likes that have unfortunate mishaps such as that to the fitting backing of Stairway To Heaven. I've had a quick look but it doesn't appear to be available on the web. :x

There seems to be a lot of this going around. Last week when I got back from work I had to help Ross unbog a small Bobcat that was threatening to roll over into the new dam.
