And who said moving production to China was a bad idea - imagine the trouble they might be in if the Macpac factory was in Christchurch!
All the best Cam

This is from their facebook page
"Hi everybody. Thank you for the emails asking if we Macpac people are all okay. Yes, all people at Macpac seem to be fine. At main office the walls have cracks, windows are broken, our webcam does not work (bugger) and the vaccum cleaner is running hot. So - thanks again for checking on us. Regards from HO Christchurch."

An unexpected field test for all those water purifiers, stoves etc. You must write a report Cam

Seriously, all the best in this very difficult situation.
Lindsay.

Very best wishes Campbell and all at Macpac. Been following the news reports, the main thing is that all are safe and well.

Ditto. And I hope these aftershocks abate and things get back to normal asap.
Cheers,

thanks for your thoughts folks.
Things here are still shaking and (!!!!!!another aftershock just then as I wrote that!!!!!) and a lot of shaken people. Most everyone is on edge here, 200 or so after shocks and counting

(big one this morning too)
Family are well, thank you, in fact as the only one not born and bred here I'm the one least comfortable with earthquakes..
Damage around our house has been minor, our friends and staff are well and unharmed, and our office today got a green ticket from the engineer report so we can get in there and tidy up and move on with things. The staff have been amazing, I am so impressed with our people here. In fact the people of New Zealand have been incredible, really rallying together.
Went for a mtb ride with a guy from work today...we both got back in a good headspace and are looking forward to getting back into a routine again..
cheers

Good to hear from ya Cam... glad youre well.
If you decide to follow in the dairy's footsteps and open up with free gear I might have to move over there!
Just good that no one is hurt....

This site
http://www.christchurchquakemap.co.nz/ is an earthquake map of the recent Christchurch earthquakes, it gives some idea as to what people living in and around Christchurch have experienced and are still experiencing.
All the best to all of our friends in Christchurch.

I have just heard that everyone in Macpac head office in Christchurch is okay, though quite shaken (no that is not a pun).
Their building survived, but a fair bit of damage - water damage, etc. Computers all down...
No news on their families yet. My thoughts are still with all our New Zealand friends and hoping the best for everyone.

hi, thanks for the thoughts. CHCH is a mess, so sad. So many lost lives, lost homes. Our crew got out of our offices, our shops and warehouses mostly unscathed. The buildngs are a real mess, both home and work..but we are still counting ourselves amongst the lucky ones...this is a real test for NZ, it is a long road to recover from this, but everyone is helping each other out..these times do reveal character, and the people here are good people.
once more, thanks for the thoughts..

Good Luck BS.

HI Cam,
I was actually thinking of you last week, and was going to email you to make sure that the package made it across OK last Dec.
I logged on soon after you posted and saw that all was OK.
Trust that your home and both the home and families of those you know are all well and safe. It must be a trying time.
Thinking of you all,
eddie
