Keeping in mind there are several sides to this story... rather unfortunate news nonetheless.
http://www.theclimbingedge.com.au/THE CLIMBING EDGE is CLOSED
The sign on the door says that the lease has been terminated - but that's only part of the story.

Very sad day for those of us who utilise the place to train & or just hang out & climb during the winter months.
This will, in the daylight saving short term, put alot of pressure on WaterWorks quarry & Freuhauf.
Maybe time for some Pipes missions after work Oll?

Gonna use my pass refund to buy some draws.

Sigh. I still hope the better half was kidding around when she said I can't turn the underside of the deck into a bouldering "cave".

Someone else can write the obituary.
PS: I'm hoping I'm wrong...

Plenty of nice old sandstone buildings down there with mortar falling out of the joints between the bricks...

The Fisher Family lawyers wrote a letter saying that they admitted that they knew about the drains and that they knew that the Fisher Family was responsible, but that they believed that Hobart City Council should repair the drains, as none of the water that actually uses the drains belongs to the Fisher Family.
(my italics)
I love this part. Not even George Orwell could have thought up that one.

Does anyone have any inside info into whats going on with all this of late?? Just wondering if they're planning on re opening eventually and what actually happened over the summer causing it to close. Missing the after work sessions, especially now its getting dark/colder heading into winter. Also keen to team up with any friendly folk for some occasional outdoor climbing
