Hey guys,
Have you guys seen the flying foxes at Yarra Bend Park? There's a nice walking track that's not too gruelling for those looking for the leisurely walk and a bike track as well. And if you stay until sunset, you can watch 20 000 bats rise up into the sky as they search for food. I know it sounds like spam but it is something that I am passionate about and want to get more people aware of so check out my article on the Grey Headed Flying Foxes at Yarra Bend and enjoy! Feedback is most welcome.

Hi Greengirl,
Funnily enough flying foxes are a passion of mine too, hence my user name “Pteropus” and my avatar pic...
I haven’t visited the Yarra Bend camp, but know plenty about it..
Cheers
Andrew

Hi Pteropus!
Awesome! Well i fyou have a chance to come down to Vic, definitely check out the Yarra Bend roosting site. There's a monthy bat count that happens as well normally around the 13th of every month. Here's the url to my article:

After finding Yarra Bend Park in Google Maps, I've had to move this topic into the "Between Walks" forum, as it appears to be a suburban park and not a bushwalking location.
