Spell Check (is it working?)

Sat 19 May, 2012 5:46 pm

Can you please add some common place names to the spellchecker.
Two that popped up other day were Kentish & Deloraine - oh has this now been fixed as it appears to like it now.
If so thanks.

I tend to think its not working at all as if In type gobliggop it doesn't complain.

maybe we need a place (if there isn't one already) to post 'missing' words.

Do you use a browser spellchecker? I didn't realise PHP BB had a spellchecker?

Ah! Thanks Tastrax
I use Firefox and was having some issues so disbaled and unistalled a few addins.
I was trying to access my Telstra account and it said I needed to update my web program as it was not compatible with them and gave me links to a much older version of Firefox as the latest version!! I declined but did remove a few bits and pieces!
Stupid telstra site - I'll blame them.

That may have been it and now explains why it doesn't work now.
Mystery solved?

In that case I'll change teh question to can we please have a spellcheck.

Spell checking is definitely a browser function.

This should help -- Using spell checker

You'll note that there is an option to right click on a word that is underlined in red and add the word to your dictionary if you believe the spelling is correct. That should fix the proper nouns problem.

Thanks for that.
Must have disabled that in trying to sort the issues last week.

Edit- I see the Dictionary itself had disappeared as I did have check spelling ticked. No idea how that happened.

I'm going to move this to "Between Walks" as it is not really related to this site or bushwalking. Spell checking is the domain of the client software (either the OS or the browser application software depending on which OS and/or browser you are running).
