Rosebery/Great Lakes

Postby TerraMer » Wed 05 Sep, 2012 11:09 pm

"If it looks too good to be true it probably is"
Why is land so cheap in Rosebery and around the Great Lakes district?
What is stopping someone coming in and buying a parcel of blocks?
What is the catch?

Cheap is an understatement - many are simply given away!

Go to Rosebery/Great Lake/Launceston and you will understand why no one wants to live there...

Both areas have their charms but to live in either would be a 'lifestyle' choice. The country around Rosebery is some of the most beautiful in Tasmania.

It'd be a perfect place to retire if you were a fisherman... if not, well you might get a bit bored, and cold.
Nothing to see here.

Rosebery is well located for many great walking areas. I reckon it's way undervalued. It does get a little bit of rain though.

Same reason land anywhere in Tasmania is cheap. It's a crap place to live with terrible weather and nothing to do. That's why nobody wants to live in Tasmania.

Move along. Nothing to see here.

I used to work with Lindsay Phillips. I would not believe a single word that came out of his mouth.

We sent a crew there and filmed it, but perhaps I'm better off believing you than my own eyes eh?

 Nice try! I've been promising myself a little Tasmanian bush block and a solitary self-sustainable lifestyle since 1991

I wonder how she would cope with tank water?

I would take the presence of that little critter as a sign of a clean water supply.

Well they did a great job with the ID didn't they. That is quite clearly an amphipod.
