Rest assured that I have not seen you putting on your knickers. There is no intended imputation, just a story about an age-related condition.

From FB:
A truck loaded with thousands of copies of Roget's Thesaurus crashed yesterday losing its entire load. Witnesses were stunned, startled, aghast, taken aback, stupefied, confused, shocked, rattled, paralyzed, dazed, bewildered, mixed up, surprised, awed, dumbfounded, nonplussed, flabbergasted, astounded, amazed, confounded, astonished, overwhelmed, horrified, numbed, speechless, and perplexed.

They were my books that were stolen. I’d tell you how I’m feeling, but I just can’t find the words!

That's a little like the joke I heard the other day.
How do you keep a bushwalker in suspense?

At my house rain was very close to the top of a 2.5 metre wall with a 1.4 metre porch. The rain was very close to horizontal. I stayed indoors. I'm a bushwalker, not a hang-glider.

At least 18 people went up kunanyi/Wellington yesterday, and had to be rescued. And no, that isn't a joke. This is one of the rare occasions where I'm in agreement with the public dogpiling they've received.

I'd have used it as an opportunity to test my winter gear.
Perhaps it wasn't the best time for people to be out and up there but
I take exception to people saying that we shouldn't take risks.

Absolutely for people who are equipped with the right gear and need the experience.
I'd be up there every day if I lived there or close by.
An opportunity to test out various outfits.
Conditions don't seem to have been that bad really; but I do have some experience in snow and ice and wind combined; and the gear and -20C isn't really all that cold

The point is they weren't appropriately equipped and experienced.

I just read about a feudal uprising where a duke's son was killed by rebels. They used a trebuchet to knock him off the battlements with the only available ordnance: a peasant's decapitated head.

It was the first recorded instance of a serf-face-to-heir missile.
