Regifting!!!

Postby TerraMer » Wed 26 Dec, 2012 1:59 pm

Who regifted this year and who'll be regifting next year? What did you regift?
I regifted some camp stuff I didn't need to someone I couldn't be bothered shopping for.
I don't need to regift anything from this year because the family finally understand an itinerant doesn't need much :D

Some of those Butter Cookies in the blue tin....I suspect there was only a couple hundred of them ever produced and they just keep going around.
I tend to be given way more alcohol than I can drink ( sometimes a bottle of scotch lasts over a years supply) so I regift a lot of that.

Some tips about regifting.
Always label the item with the name of the person who originally gifted it to you - saves embarassment when you give a gift back several years later to the person from whom it was originally given.
Such as....the watermarked paper and pens I purchased in Italy that I gave to my Mum, and sunsequently received as a present about five years later. SPRUNG!
I confess I have perpetuated the idea of The Present Box
When you get stuck, there is always a ready supply of nicely presented bath bombs, packs of body lotion and shower gel, bottles of undrinkable lambrusco, and I always top it up with a few of those boys' presents like those interactive books with 'thing's in them from the sale tables in shopping centres for when my son presents me with a party invitation on Saturday morning for a party I didn't know about on that Saturday afternoon and I'll be at work.
We can learn a lot from crayons. They come in different shapes and colours, but they all have to live in the same box

I never regift. If I really do not like the item or have no use for it, I often donate it to the local Salvation Army store - they got a very nice T2 cup and saucer set from me a few years ago. It was decorated in orange roses and not only do I not like floral patterns on china but I have a strong dislike of the colour orange.
This makes me the first man to climb Mount Everest backwards, without oxygen...or even a jumper.
