In 1971 the mighty Saints played the Hawks in the grand final with both teams aiming to win their 2nd flag. 44 years later and the Hawks won their 13the flag and the Saints are STILL stuck on one As a Saints supporter I am very jealous of the Hawks.

Great win today and very much deserved.

Which is almost as good. Not a bad weekend. Pity Manly have had such a bad season.

Be interesting to see what happens If/when Tassie get there own AFL side ...where will the support be , Hawks or Tassie Devils ?.......

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've been a hawthorn supporter from before their first premiership. I'm not changing for anyone or anything.

IMO Tassie will not get their own AFL side for many reasons.

Geez NNW, I had no idea you followed the footy.
I only pay attention at the pointy end of the season, and was rooting for the Hawks yesterday at our mandatory (says our kids) grand final BBQ.
Every year I just hope for a furiously fought blood bath of a game to the end. (sick - I know).
When push comes to shove and I have to pick a team - It's the Crows (I'm ex SA). I was living In Alice when the Crows started and won 2 in a row.
I have taken my boys over to Melb a couple of times to see a game (they loved it), and am always surprised at just how *&%$#! tribal and essential the whole thing is.

Only thing worse than Footy is Cricket. Only thing worse than Cricket is Golf. Nothing is worse than Golf.

No Micky, it never gets boring. Remember when we took it for granted we'd be trouncing the Poms whenever the Ashes came around? Good times.

Just wish they would stop changing the rules in AFL,looking more like Rugby,I even heard one of our so called experts calling a ball contest a ......SCRUM !!! ......

Not sure any AFL rule changes have caused numbers around the ball to increase vicrev, that's more due to the defensive game style and flooding tactics introduced by Paul Roos at Sydney. That said, I'll take an in-close, man-on-man, hard-fought possession game any day instead of 18 blokes running around seemingly without a direct opponent playing keepings-off without any contested ball. Still the best game in the world and GO THE TIGERS in 2016.
