TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Propane gas stove maintenance

Thu 24 Sep, 2015 4:21 pm

Anybody got any links on Propane camp stove repair and cleaning? My Google-Fu has failed to find any that I find easy to follow
My trusty old Jackaroo 3-burner still runs very well but it will not now simmer at all, I think it just needs a good clean out and the gas taps greased but I can't figure out how to disassemble the taps
I know a new one will only cost $60- and this is over 40 years old but why buy new if I can get it up and running again?

Does it have any filter/s before the jets?

No filters and it has tiny diameter gas feed lines and the taps/mix tubes are about 12mm internal

Might need some new jets, and new O rings on the valves. Mine just unscrew out and replace O ring and put back with a smear of vaseline on the O ring.
