TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Daiso is a Japanese chain store in Melbourne and elsewhere that sells everything at the same price, $2.80. I saw these single use chemical handwarmers today. They come in both a small size and regular. The small has nine pieces and lasts 8 hours each and the regular has 7 pieces and lasts 16 hrs each satchel. Could be good to put in clothing or sleeping bag.

I have seen something similar to this product and wondered if it would be good for drying wet socks overnight.

My wife bought some of these from somewhere and they are quite good. It was definitely still warm 8 hours later.
