TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Merino Air baselayer

Anyone else have one of these tops?
I have one, but yet to fully test it.
On initial examination I'm impressed with the weave in it.
It feels warm on and would go well as simply a top under a jacket.
It won't work exposed to the elements in the Oz bush because if caught on anything the threads will pull apart.
It would be worse than a plain Icebreaker top being jagged by a branch.

Presumably you bought yours from overseas since they are not available in Australia yet. Haven't heard much about them but they are getting a lot of buzz. I personally don't like wool so I'd be interested to hear how this compares to a regular Cap 3 or Cap 4.
