TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

This sort of lightweight merino & the merino blends are actually highly comfortable.

If you imagine that icebreaker underwear is itchy you should try it. I have been wearing their products including underwear since it arrived in Australia. It is brilliant - I have never found any of their underwear or baselayers itchy - to the contrary they feel fabulous.

It all depends on the fibre diameter. Icebreaker (and other woollen thermals/underwear produces) use ultrafine merino wool which is softer and more comfortable than cotton.
