Where to buy the Hilleberg tent in Melbourne?

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Where to buy the Hilleberg tent in Melbourne?

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing good here. The easter break is just around the corner.
We are planning to have an overnight hiking in Wilsonprom. We are seeking a tent can fit 3 of us. (2 adults and 1 child)
I am thinking to buy a tent which is Hilleberg Nallo 3 GT after I read many threads from the forum.

I can't find any shops in Melbourne selling this product. I have found MountainAdventureCentre is selling this one but it is in Sydney.

Can any one kindly tell me if I can buy this tent in a shop in Melbourne?

Thanks heaps!

John

Pretty sure you won't find one in a shop in Melbourne. There is a bloke in tassie on gumtree who is competetive otherwise a shop in Jyndabyne or direct from Hilleberg in usa. Hard to get a pre purchase look unless you find someone who has one ( And plenty on this site do I think).
I may be doing the typing but Steve Jobs is doing the spelling!

Where to buy the Hilleberg tent in Melbourne?

That's a pretty high end 4 seasons tent. Sure you want that for Australian autumn? Planning to snow camp also? I think there are tents that have better ventilation which would suit our warmer days better. It's also pretty heavy, built for really extreme conditions. A bit more than what most of us need and want to carry.
Just move it!

My last Hilleberg, purchased from the U.S. site last year, but shipped from somewhere else, arrived within 3-4 days. My first Hilleberg, purchased some 5 yrs ago, and the same way , was bought on a Thursday evening, and arrived the following Monday!

I have a Nallo 3GT, and a 2GT...the 3 would comfortably fit 2 adults and a child of 12 or less. The tent is fine in high wind, and snow, but the foot end does tend to collapse in heavier snowfalls (>10cm).

It also has a very long footprint, which may be relevant.

I thought Mountain adventure Centre was in jindi. I bought a hille from them and they were excellent. Tent arrived in two days and I've heard they do work with hilleberg if there is a warranty issue at times taking parts from another tent they have in stock to get you going. That's why I got mine from them. I don't know that the bloke from tassie does that but he's meant to be good to deal with as well.
