Can't you normally get those canisters for about $1 each when you buy a carton?

Hi Lucy, we bought a pair of the hiking poles as spares to leave at a relative's house in Tasmania for day walks when visiting without our gear. For the price they seem fine for our needs (and save having to have check in baggage when flying). We regularly use hellinox poles, which we think are great. In comparison, the Kmart poles, as expected, are quite heavy, the twist lock function is more combersome than the flick lock I'm used to, the handles aren't as comfortable, and I have no idea about their rigour, but husband seems to think they are OK. If you haven't used poles and want a low cost way of trying them they would be OK for that, however, if you are looking for using poles on a regular basis, or for long trips with a heavy pack, it would be worth spending more money and getting a good pair.
