TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

This could prove interesting for outdoor garments, although the claims are typically outrageous for a waterproof and 'breathable' fabric...

i dont see how they will stop water working its way down the woolen threads through the membranes. htey have an overlapping outer layering structure that i dont think you'd be able to get a complete seal. unproven technology, how long before the membrane breaks down without a backing layer bonded firmly to it? why would you wear a woolen outer garment in the rain given how heavy wool gets when its wet..?

yes, it seems difficult to believe but cycling gear often trades strict waterproofness for warmth when wet (as it is nigh on impossible to stay dry when you're training) so I imagine that water resistance is more what they have in mind. they do claim waterproof so perhaps it is dwr reliant.... which means it isn't waterproof for long, i suspect.
