Just curious, how many kilometres do your shoes last?

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

One kilometre of alpine meadow or good walking track is not the same as one kilometre of scrambling over massive dolerite boulders, or one kilometre of thick scrub.
So, as MD said.

Just curious, how many kilometres do your shoes last?

My boots tend to last and last, typically until the adhesives age and bits and pieces fall off. Some of those rubber soles are really hard to wear down. Guess I don't walk enough or don't walk enough on concrete/bitumen paths. Distance? Who bothers to measure?
Just move it!

varies massively, on tread depth, tread design and how soft the rubber is. and the type of ground being walked on. 500k to a couple of thousand. sometimes the uppers give out first

My current boots will last about a year. That's with a decent amount of dolerite scrambling that wore down a significant part of the sole.
Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful.
