No the XL was too small and I'm hoping that we get the XXL and XXXL for this winter.
If not I still have the old but heavier stuff but that is really too warm for OZ

I'd grab one but I was lucky enough to get a Kathmandu down vest off of Gumtree for $25. 900 fill power. Fits really well.

I bought one a couple of years ago in NY and I love it as I don't feel the cold much it is a very good and very very compact down jacket for me. It is made from lightweight material though and would tear at the slightest scratchy twig you brush up against

You lost me. Did you mean that you don't feel the cold usually and the thin lightweight jacket was enough of a layer, or was the jacket is very warm and kept the cold away?

I think Marty doesn't really feel the cold and the LW was just enough insulation for him.

I know I need more than that in a NY winter, by at least a polarfleece and long underwear as well
