Hi all,

Just thought I'd share something cool that I came across recently.

It's a battery powered 1m long strip of LED lights. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-1m-Bright-White-Fairy-Lights-Battery-Vine-10-Seed-LED-Bulbs-Wedding-Party-/400597910117?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item5d457f0265.

Weighs 12g with batteries, is threaded with wire so you can easily bend it to hook onto whatever you want and throws out a reasonable amount of light! I paid $7 incl. postage to Tasmania.

*no affiliation, just thought it was a good find.

Cheers,

Dee.

A good find. I've only seen the ones that run on AAs. Excellent idea to hang in tents.

Good stuff. Handy in the tent I'd think.

How long do the batteries last?

Not sure yet Beean but they run off two watch batteries so I imagine a fairly long time. I'll be using it on a 6 day walk soon so I'll be able to report back and let you know if they lasted the journey.

Consider Luci https://www.mpowerd.com

Throws a fair bit of light, lasts a long time, is light and can hang on the back of the pack (or in my case the bicycle) to charge up.

Hanging in the tent it is bright enough to read by.

I bought a set of those that ran on solar power at a $2 shop. We had it outside in the garden, it lasted for years. We are looking for another set to use camping.
