No, it's not the lightest, newest, fastest or anything really, but for an old bit of militaria, this is a pretty clever variation on the Trangia theme. I collect a lot of [ to me ] interesting old stuff, usually ex-military, either out of curiosity or because it's usually dirt cheap if you're patient enough to hunt a bit. A couple of links below to explain the basic idea.

This actually works very well as a [lightish] cook set for 2 or even 3 people, the bowls are a useful size, and the little separation ring makes it possible to do say, rice/pasta/cous cous in one bowl and sauce/stew/curry or whatever in the other, at the same time, as well as a frying pan. You can cook and keep stuff warm as well, beats hot pasta and cold sauce! There's umpteen variations possible, and I've been trying lots on the kitchen bench, it's surprisingly usable. I paid $65 for 2 sets, ex-Europe and they were both well beaten up, but with a little panel beating and polishing, the first set has come up real pretty. The second set I will modify to use a gas stove with remote canister, see how it goes.

As I said, it's kinda like a Trangia set, but infinitely more usable for 2 or 3 people.

Where did you buy your kits. I bought the Trangia mini kit and wish I hadn't. I don't want to buy another full kit including another burner just for the windshield and stand.

I'm not going to use the second set Mr Jackattack, so you want it, flick me an address and I'll box it up and send it your way as a freebie.

It's well beat up but with a little TLC you can clean it up, if it suits your purposes, all good.

I'm not home from work till next week [fifo in the Pilbara ], I'll send it off when I get back, cheers.
