MSR Mini Groundhogs

Tarptent sent me some MiniGroundhogs to play with.
Our shelters come with the Easton 6" or 8" tubular types but we have also had in stock the Ti V shaped 6".

I am very impressed with these Mini Hogs.

About the same weight as the 6" Easton ( somewhere around 8-9g according to my 5g increment scale) I can't bend them and seem to have about the same holding power as the Easton do.
The string loop is strong enough to use to pull them out , with the Easton you are better off giving the peg a nudge with your boot first and then pull.
A couple will end up in my own kit . (I prefer the longer type...)

I love the mini groundhogs, vastly better than the V pegs supplied with my SL3. If I'm heading into very loose or sandy areas, I use the MSR Blizzard pegs. The SL3 is not forgiving when it comes to staking.
