I'm a bit stumped at the moment on finding a snow pulk or equivalent for a planned snow show Pretty Valley etc.

I busted my last one (1st attempt at DIY) - it was a kids toboggan - but the bum was ripped out of it by the end of the snow shoe trip @ Mt Stirling last August - poor snow cover... All I can see online for 'pulk/sled' are similar.

If you have any left-field ideas - eg: successful conversion of a plastic Gardening Cart - please get in touch.

Otherwise I have a relative that can weld aluminium to make one, but it seems like over-kill.

I've made a couple of these using old Nordic skis.
But honestly it is hard to beat the moulded plastic sleds from Canada and the USA

You will need two or three of these in a short train with an "X" coupling between them and they will need aluminium runners pop riveted or screwed to the base for tracking and wear resistance.
A very strong hip harness and trunnions for the connection of the sled to the hip belt.

My local junk shop has 4 plastic sleds for $10- each, I offered $20- for all four and they declined, all four in a train could hold a fair amount of gear. Tempted to go back but i don't think I'll be snow camping next year either
