Osprey Exos 48L- Issue

Has anyone had issues with the pack height adjustment tabs causing issues with their scapula (shoulder blades)? I haven’t got great posture and my scapulas stick out a bit, this causes them to press directly onto the hard plastic adjustment tabs. I could notice it when I wore it for a couple of hours, but it was nothing major at the time. The next day my scapulas were fairly tender though and I’m worried how this might go on a multi-day trip. The rest of the pack fits great and is very comfortable. Has anyone else had this issue and found a remedy for it?

I’ve given a 48l Exos an absolute flogging over the last few years and I’m not quite sure about your issue. Perhaps a photo would help with diagnosis?

Thanks for the picture. My Osprey bags don’t have that component. I can see how that would rub. Maybe make up some covers from closed cell foam and securely attach them?

Yep, I've tried that. Haven't used the pack since, but hopefully it works!

Have you contacted Osprey and told them about the issue?
They may have already had comments and produced a fix

Mine certainly doesn't have that either - Mine simply has the shoulder straps/material morph onto the mesh backing. Probably about 4 years old now, I notice they are now made with hip pockets again- wish I'd waited for that to be re-introduced.

Looks like Bills idea could be a good way to overcome the issue. Good Luck.

I’m a huge fan of the Exos 48 and have given mine an absolute flogging over the last few years. It’s been back to the online retailer I purchased it from for repairs which were mainly due to normal wear etc. I’ve looked hard at some of the popular cottage brands of ultralight style packs and decided against buying any of them.
