Not sure if this has been mentioned on here already or may be it's been around for a while. Discovered White Wings ' Cake In A Cup' on the shelves of Woolies a few days ago.
Comes with 4 convenient packets/serves per box - each packet makes just under a mugful of cake. Directions say microwave for 1minute but I tried 'cooking' it in the mug - sitting in the saucepan with a couple cm of boiling water ~5mins.
Delicious. Flavours: Double Chocolate, Rasberry and Coconut and Salted Caramel.

Looks cooked and stick came out clean so the centre is right I hope. Let it rest a minute or two now before I upend it.

No egg Lizzy and it says use milk to make the mix. I never carry milk so I used water and it worked fine. I just boiled for about 15 mins and it was done and tasted very nice. Would make a delicious change when walking that's for sure.

Did you do that straight up on the alcy burner, or with water as a barrier, sorry, just trying to figure it out since I have a very similar pot.

Not sure about Giddy_Up but I have since done mine on a hiking stove with the mix in a silicone 'cup' sitting inside my 700ml titanium pot/lid and water/steam for ~12minutes (ish).
No additives required apart from either milk or water. Well - ice-cream too would be nice out in the field! Good taste, simple and convenient sized single serve packets.
Just another good option for the hiking pantry. Even my kids like eating them at home done in a mug with ice-cream on top.

I just did mine in my Snow Peak 1400 with the Snow Peak bowl nested inside. Filled the pot up to the bottom of the bowl, fired up the Trangia, set it to flat out and boiled for 15 mins with the lid on.
Works perfectly and it's no fuss at all. You could easily do this out on a walk a couple of nights without any drama. Add some extra dried fruit would be good or perhaps lashings of condensed milk. That would get your calorie intake up

It really only needs to be simmered once the water has boiled. I used 20 mls of metho on my first go so you could reduce that significantly NNW. A cosy would be a nice way to finish it off. I'll give it a try over the weekend and see what works.

I might grab some next time I'm shopping and try it myself. Boil, shove in the cosy and leave for fifteen minutes.

Just had the Rasberry/Coconut one now at home - threw in some dried blueberries too. Mmmmmmm!

Alas, no great results as yet. The mixture just fitted in the silicone egg cup, however when I lowered it into the Jetboil it sank. The batter stayed intact however and didn't disperse too much into the hot water.
After fishing it out I emptied as much water as I dared, but the egg cup still kept sinking somehow - it was almost the same diameter as the Jetboil and I guess the weight of it displaced the water below. So I transferred the mix to a cup and microwaved it so we could taste. Nice but dry.
Tried again with some folded tinfoil, after 5 minutes of simmering with the lid on, the bottom was starting to cook but the batter on top wasn't even warmed through much. Mind you, the half-cooked result would be perfectly acceptable on a cold night's camping I reckon.
Reckon I need a very small pie/tart tin with something to sit it on, to hold it above the water.
They'd be great for car camping, in a camp oven.

Tried one on the stove in a boiler, ended up pretty soft since water kept splashing up into it. I'll be ordering some muffin cups shortly that I think might work. another option I'm going to try is using the lid of my snowpeak 700 with water in the main pot, but I have all that kit packed to go out this week, so it will wait until I get home. maybe next trip.
