Hey all,
Just found jam in a toothpaste like tube in Woolworths. It is 80g and looks kinda handy for bushwalking.
Cheers

We always take our own in the reuseable tubes.
[the bottom opens right up to fill & is then pegged to seal it.]

Yaeh I found this the other day, it was on special as well so I got a couple of tubes. Yet to try it but I imagine it's the same as 'normal' Cotties Jam. Previously I have just taken a whole jar (and one of honey and another of peanut butter (although the peanut butter can go in a snap lock if I'm in a 'lightweight' frame of mind at packing time)). So this might save me a few grams

Now I just need to find honey in a SMALL tube.
Still trying to work out the best bread alternative. English muffins are okay, crumpets last one night but seam to disintegrate after two nights in a pack. Bread squashes to easily and 'Mountain Bread' just aint bread

Dunno Corvus, it is nice to have a jar so you can mix your left over jam with your left over cream and spread that on a crumpet with some butter!

I have the larger food tubes for longer trips, but I made a smaller food tube from a sweetened condensed milk tube, cut the end off for filling and made a wire peg. Then replaced the screw cap with a snap cap from an old toothpaste tube. Have a few pre-filled with all sorts of gooey stuff!
