Cheap freeze-dried vegies

Postby christophermoore » Mon 25 Jun, 2012 3:50 pm

Hi all,

My dinners while bushwalking often revolve around freeze-dried vegies, and recently I've been having trouble finding my traditional favourites.

There used to be Surprise-branded peas, carrots and corn in the local supermarkets, which were perfect really - rehydrated quickly, pretty cheap, good size for 4 people (plus other ingredients obviously).

However I can only find the peas now. The carrots and corn are nowhere to be seen.

Does anyone know where to find other (preferably cheap, i.e. not marketed to bushwalkers) freeze-dried vegies?

Cheers,
Chris

Any luck? your not alone - it would appear that Coles have withdrawn the Continental product & replaced it with a home brand (made in same factory in NZ i would guess), but lacks the variety being peas only! I will try the local asian deli though...
