Toastems as a breakfast meal.

Postby John Sheridan » Fri 16 Mar, 2012 12:38 am

Toastems i am told by the internets are just like pop tarts, but cheaper and better, I have never had any of them, but at 50 grams it might be a nice breakfast, with some coffee, just wondering how to heat them up.

Has anyone had any Toastems or pop tarts while camping, how much energy do they contain ect, I have read they are for sale at the Reject sop and online, might try them.

Cheers.

I got off my *&%$#! and bought some Toastems at the Reject Shop and will taste them and see, not sure how I will heat them up in the bush, but I will find a way, probably involve boiling water, boil the water for my coffee use the steam to heat the toastem, EASY.

Will let you know how they taste, I got the Strawberry frosted version, they had chocolate and a fudge and a Cinnamon one i THINK.

Cheers.

I like the Strawberry Tostems they be yummy, they have 2 of them in the one foil pouch, just right for breakfast.

I have found that there is another brand of them called Tasty Pastries from woolworths, they are the same thing even the foil package is the same, even imported from the US, not sure why it has a new name ??

The ones at the reject shop are 3 bucks while the woolies ones are 4 bucks, will get them from the Reject shop until they run out I guess :)

They be yummy and a VERY good camp Breakfast, or lunch or dinner desert or snack at anytime :o.

Cheers.
