Been quiet a while since I fired up the GPS unit and was surprised/heartened by the speed it acquired a signal down to the usual 3 Metres. The response being twice as fast as previous sessions.(Adelaide)
Is there some new Sat positioning information I’ve missed, or is this just a case of happenstance ?

Interestingly I’ve found mine faster in some regions, but slower and even hard to get a signal in others.

I use an Iridium satphone with a GPS location ability. I guess a satphone may require a better satellite signal for speech and not just a data link.

Satellite phones use different frequencies from GPS systems... so that makes things little more difficult for the designer.
