Nice.
And the user interface will be a speech-controlled visor so we have a hands-free head-up display while we're walking.

It sounds like it's super accurate at measuring changes in the earth's magnetic and gravitational fields. So, once you know your location it can continue to update without requiring a GPS fix.

So does this mean it compliments or replaces GPS? It's been a long time since I've looked at much of this stuff so it'd be good to hear from an expert in there's one in the forum.

With a 10 day battery it'd actually be pretty awesome.

Not sure of its potential resolution but there's a wide range for improved performance on a submarine b/n 1km and what a GPS can give at within a meter or less. Can't see a need for consumer GPS replacement except for tunnel traffic guidance and caving enthusiasts.

Solar powered, old chap. Naturally.

I would honestly love that. Seeing as I already have to carry glasses anyway.

The quantum compass looks like nothing more than an fancy inertial navigation system, tbh.

A better term would be, Quantum Positioning System (QPS).

I'm all for not having to rely on the satellites. Could be good if it can be made miniature.
