Any of you photography buffs out there considering picking up an Olympus EP1? What an awesome camera for bushwalking!

Maybe.

I think the EP1 is the tip of the wedge, so I'm tempted to wait for the next round.

It's a whole lot smaller and lighter than a DSLR though...

I'd be nice if it had some affordable pro-grade lenses with it. I reckon you're right too- more to come. I keep waiting for a point-and-shoot digicam with a decent zoom and an APS-C -sized sensor.

You're dreaming :)

Mind you, with an adapter, you could use OM Glass on it. I've got a Zuiko 21 that I have used quite successfully on the Canon. 42mm though (effective) on 4/3rds, so not as wide as I like. Needs a good 8 or 10mm 2.8 lens.

You're right of course, the camera is only part of the picture. It definitely needs good small light lenses to become a great bushwalking camera.

They have that 17mm lens, but it's 38mm in 35mm equivalent, and that just isn't wide enough. Only one of the wide-angle lenses for the 3/4 system looked like it would be up to par with a Canon (OR Nikon....happy Adam?) pro lens, and that one was horridly dear.

Don't know about the camera though
