Most of you probably are familar with this photographer, but for those who aren't, IMHO Wolfgang Glowacki is the inheritor of Dombrovskis as far as nature photography goes in Tasmania. I reckon he is the best of the many outstanding Nature photographers in Tasmania. I love his macro work in particular. What do you all think?

Yes, Wolfgang does some extraordinary photography.

If you really want to see it in all it's glory, he has a gallery shared with another great tassie photographer, Ian Jeanneret. Only opened up in October. I've been in snooping a couple of times already to study the photos and get inspiration ;)

Goulburn Street Gallery - 89-91 Goulburn Street, West Hobart (Cnr of Goulburn St & Molle St)

Grant Dixon is another Tasmanian photographer in this league in my opinion.

Wolfgang currently has an exhibition showing at Salamance Collection, well worth a visit.

I haven't seen all that work Woka- some of that is amazing.

I have a copy of his book, which I love, but I reckon his skill has increased greatly since he published it.

I checked out the gallery today, and the photos at Salamanca which is where most of Glowacki's photos are at the moment. Thanks Drifting for posting this as I hadn't heard of Wolfgang Glowacki and his photos are stunning, as are Ian Jeanneret's (who I knew once). I also was looking for inspiration but wouldn't mind having one or two of these photos on the wall. Actually the one that I nearly bought wasn't a bushwalking photo, it was one of Ian Jeanneret's of a road that I know so well and it absolutely grabbed me - the stretch of dirt between Liawenee and Miena where it goes across the open plains.
Which looked like this: Image

I really like Wolfgang Glowacki's macros as well.

Awesome photos. The macro set remind me of the desktop photos from the Nature and Plants collections in snow leopard (apple fanboys will know what I am talking about).

Wolfgang is no longer associated with the Goulburn Street Gallery which is a shame, but you can still check out his stuff at the market and usually he's there which I think is a nice thing, being able to talk to the guy when you're checking out his artwork, add's something to the buying experience I think.. But I follow him on facebook and he's just launched his new website and for a week he's having a 25% off sale on his site only. (Knew this was coming so I've waited till now to buy a few of my favourites!) You need a codeword to put in during the payment bit which he announced on fb so I guess it's free for all - it's " launch " (lower case) and apparently only valid for a week or something. He's a nice guy and he's a brilliant photographer, I'm happy to support his art :)

Wow, thanks for sharing. Just been into the site and loved it. Personally, I think he's better than Dombrowski who I used to admire as a technical photographer but often thought he lacked impact with some images (but not his classics) unlike this guy.
Will now go and check out the other one mentioned.
There's also a photographer from my home town (Newcastle) who has fabulous stuff of Tasmania, his second home. I'm not sure of his name, could be Geoff Woods or similar.
Cheers all
