Hey Guys,
New to the forum just thought i'd ask a quick question about the overland track in May 2011, myself and Wife are thinking of doing the track this year wondering if we will be lucky and get some snow and is anybody else going at this time of year ? We will probably go early May although nothing is set in concrete.
Regards and happy hiking.

Usually still quite busy, especially in early May. With the end of the permit season can see lots of patch pants backpackers, unscrupulous school groups and scotts
There might be the first dustings of snow, impossible to say.

Oops also just realized there is a specific Overland track section. Thanks for the reply Nuts will probably look at going late May.

Hi I am new to this forum too. My wife and I are doing the OT starting May 4 to May 10.
Good news Bad news about it still being busy in early May! Good news: I assume that means the ferry will be there when we need it.
I cannot find anything online about the ferry timetable. I'm a bit concerned the last day may be somewhat frantic getting the ferry then
the bus to Hobart...
Any suggestions for the best (short) side trips ?
Also anyone walking out that day and driving to Hobart have room for 2 more bods?
Thank you all!
