over land track

i'm considering walking overland track on my own early 2012, how far ahead do you need to book? i'm thinking early feb may be better than jan school holidays or would i just book earlier?

From memory when I did it the bookings opened around July. The earlier you can book the better; the more popular dates, such as Dec/Jan seem to fill up quickly.

"Bookings open July each year for the coming season." ...so my suggestion would be to get in as early as possible
