Track start Nov 22nd - where to park and how to get to start

Postby Anika_GER » Sat 15 Nov, 2014 12:22 pm

Hi everyone,

I am going to start the track Saturday, 22nd this month.
Now I am wondering where to park my car, I know about the Lake St Clair car park, but am wondering how to get to the start point.
I have seen the bus routes and schedules, but unfortunately they don't really help.

Can anyone help with that?

Thanks a lot :)

Given that you're walking in the booking season, the simplest method is to park at the top of the track - at Ronny Creek - then catch the bus (or hitch) back to Cradle when you've finished, or park at Cynthis Bay and bus (or hitch) up to Cradle to start walking.
Unfortunately walking northwards isn't an option.

Thanks! I know that with the directions. It is just very hard to find out when buses depart from Lake St Clair to go to the starting point.

That may help. There is not really an easy option. Hitch hiking is a viable option in my opinion

Or asking on this forum if there's anyone travelling to either end at a convenient time. Try the "Find Walking Companions or Arrange Transport" option here http://bushwalk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4
