@cixelsyd

How did your food hold up? Did you take enough?

I took enough for 7 days and found we had some left over, mainly scroggin and a couple of chocolate bars! If you plan your meals for everyday then you should be fine.

We booked September last year

The track was fairly busy, but most people camped and the huts were half empty! I think when the weather is bad more people stay in the huts but we were lucky with fine weather so most opted to camp especially the young overseas visitors. We preferred our tent as it gave us more privacy and your away from the snorers!! There is only a maximum of 30 people allowed a day on the track and for most of the time we found ourselves hiking on our own! If you met people is was mostly at popular lunch spots or the junctions where you did the side trips. The only thing I found was that if you didn't get to the hut early enough all the good camp spots were taken or there weren't any left at all!
