Hey All,

I've got a trek coming up and like some, I usually take stock of my gear before I start training. Anyway, I'm pretty geared up now but I've been thinking that I need some new hiking pants. To cut a long story short. I just bought some Craghoppers (designed by Bear Grylls). I'm not a Big Bear fan, and I'm wondering if my cred will suffer if I'm spotted sporting these in the Tasmanian outback or even on the plane.

If anyone has a pair, please let me know what you think or alternatively recommend a good pair of hiking pants.

what besides being asked to drop them and do that enema thing just one more time... seriously, if you have them, flaunt them! There are some pretty bizarre types out there , im sure the pants wont matter.

I like Montane Terra pants..?

Actually the montane tetras look pretty good. I like the snaps at the bottom. I'd say bear borrowed some ideas from montane.

Yer, they are good, last for ages with the reinforcement they use. The big side vents can catch on things when open but they are an easy way to cool off, easier than swapping to shorts.
