Hi all
can anyone give me some approximate walking times for these two from their respective roads, they look like you could easily do both in a day but I've had dumb thoughts before
cheers

Julia Peak, half an hour at the most to the top. It's short and easy and very open going all the way.
Mt Julia, depends on the ascent route, but you should be able to get up in around an hour or maybe a little over, assuming you can go up the way I did. That hillside is a bit more uneven and the easiest walking is to find the most open line up to the ridge south of the summit and then walk along to the trig, and return the same way; don't go straight down (or up) because there are some very awkward patches of scrub. It would be easiest to go up from a more northerly transmission line access road, but the best ones are behind the gate. I think I used the third one in from Anthony Road.

Mt Julia - Julia Peak make a great half day circuit. Park on the eastern side of Julia Peak, do the steep climb up, walk along the ridge to Julia peak, then descend down to Lake Julia, slightly harder going around the lake outlet and interesting terrain between the two lakes but still a great off track circuit

Hi Frenchy
are you saying to walk around the southern or northern side of Lake Julia to get to Mt Julia from Julia peak (too many Julia's in that sentence

)

South is easier terrain.

The circuit as shown in image below I found very enjoyable. The ridge walking from Peak to Mountain is very nice that I would never contemplate doing them as two separate walks. There is some scrub and interesting terrain (small cliff lines) in the area between Lake Julia and Lake Westwood but most can be avoided.

Interesting, I wondered about this standing on Julia peak a couple of days ago
