Is Mt. Fuji located in Tasmania?
Last time I checked it was in Japan.

It's there as a price comparison.
But then, you knew that.

Farefam notes on the first page (18 Nov) that:

"...this sort of "tourist commodification" development became widespread throughout the Tasmanian national parks it really would ruin what makes wilderness walking in the TWWHA so unique and very special. And it would stop me from coming back to Tasmania as frequently as I have over the decades. The "Three Capes Experience" seems to me to be a case of chasing one market, only to risk losing the other."

When I was first introduced to Tassie in 1998 I heard that "Electric" Eric Reese once said of mainland walkers that they come over here with a clean shirt and a $10 note and don't change either while they're here. If true to some extent ( was it Eric? ) that will have been the reason to start chasing the better heeled market at risk of turning away others. The whole of Tassie is only a third the size of Vic but what a difference in offerings. There may be a method in their madness.
