Trip Notice (Ver. 5/8/08)
Oct 23-26 Douglas-Apsley National Park
Map: Douglas-Apsley National Park
"A place of rugged & wild beauty", "deep river gorges with boulders & waterfalls", "a rich biological enclave", ... it says in various park notes. Haven't been there for quite a few years, time to go again. Planning to do the through walk north to south, subject to water availability & sufficient cars for a car shuffle. If water is an issue we could base camp somewhere in the park. Philosophising, contemplation & photography encouraged. Trip pace cruisy. Reasonable fitness, sense of adventure & humour required. Suitable for prospective or new members. Trip philosophy at http://www.ahack.org. Meet Thurs at Sorell Banjos 7.30 am. Return to Hobart Sun 4.00 pm latest.

Plenty of flowers and bird life

We thought that water might be a bit of a concern, but the rivers were flowing at more than a trickle and we easily found what we needed.
The access road at the north is described as 4WD, but has again been easily negotiable with small wheeled little cars like our Toyota Starlet.
A few snap-shot type pics below.
