I've had a quick FB chat with one of the (Two out of) Three Capes walkers. They came here before the new community transmission cases were found in SA and when quarantine was not required. They seem to be happy to comply with it given the change in circumstances.

Quite a few dingbats having a good ol' rant and rave, however.

There were two SA people on the Overland Track when my family walked it a week ago. Now my daughter has a nasty head cold. Might have to get her tested.

(We did not stay in any huts, and only camped near Pelion and Echo Pt huts. But we did use a few huts as lunch stops when the weather was wet.)

eek, yeah, very unlikely but good luck..

NB Tas P&W the failure here when the corralled 3C walkers need to be flown out, your infrastructure and prevailing system being the cause.

That's what I figured... but then I also thought that the chances of catching ANY cold or flu has been exceedingly slim. So could go either way, I suppose. Maybe sending her to the grandparents' instead of to school wasn't such a good idea either. :-(

There's no "might" about it. Get a test soon as. As unlikely as infection is, it's still possible.

This is going to create a fair bit of uncertainty going forward. If you leave the state then you are going to be anxious for 2 weeks after you get back. SA was the gold standard of containment - if it can happen there, then no-where is safe.
