Hey guys just a quick question regarding info on if it’s possible to do the western aurthers then do my Anne after it. We are going to be booking the shuttle bus and thought if we combined to two it would save us a second trip in. I realise we would need food for the mt Anne section but that’s not an issue. Just more of logistics getting from Scotts peak dam to Mt Anne. Can you walk or maybe hitch. I am not sure of the distance. Also I realise that weather plays a role and it would be subject to having a good weather window.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Leaving around Christmas Day 6-7 days on the aurthers and 2-3 on Mt Anne

There is no U after the A in Arthurs.

Of course it's possible. The easiest way, logistically, would be to do the Anne circuit counter clockwise, starting at Red Tape to minimise road distance between trackheads. Have a food drop there in a critter-proof container, tucked away where it won't be found. From memory it's about 7-8km between the Port Davey and Red Tape trackheads, so it's a couple of hours walking at most. Similar distance between Red Tape and Condo. You can spend a night at the Huon campground after getting out from the Arthurs or, if you spend your last night at Junction, walk the road, pick up your food drop, and go into Lake Mudd for the night.
Hitching is hit and miss - someone might stop or they might not. But it's always worth trying.

I mean, seriously, have you even looked at a map of the area? It's not hard to work out the road distances between the trackheads and the campgrounds, and it's not like there's a law against walking on roads.

There is also no E in Arthurs.

Wel, since they've rehabilitated the track - especially duckboarding so much of the plains - it isn't really any more, but it used to be a common name amongst Tassie walkers for Lake Judd.

Talk to the shuttle bus company. They should be able to pick you up at Scotts Peak Dam and drop you at Condominium Creek. You might even get them to bring you in fresh food.
