At the best little AV theatrette in Tassie – the auditorum at Queen Victoria Museum, Inveresk, starting at 1:30pm.

• Just like going to the cinema, but more intimate (40 patrons only).
• Superb sound system (this is an audio-visual; the audio is just as important as the visual)
• In memory of Ann Stocks, and all about bushwalking.

What more could a bushwalker ask for?

Being another pedant, I looked at the attached poster .
It reveals the reason for a clever twist on the spelling, harmonious with Ann's bushwalking career I suspect.

I was too busy (lazy) to check. Thought it might be a pun but you can never be sure.

There's another twist at the very end of the show, over the top of the slide of Ann on Barn Bluff (the image from my first post about Ann). The title of the show is changed to Portait of a Soul, with Ann staring straight at the camera.

Saw this earlier today. I'll just say, if you're within driving distance of Inveresk tomorrow afternoon (Saturday 16th) you really owe it to yourself to come along and enjoy arguably the finest presentation on Tasmanian bushwalking in the 1960s and 1970s you're ever likely to see.

I'd especially recommend it if you're of the "Goretex and Fuel Stove" generations, rather than "Canvas and Fire". Guy and Jenny have done an incredible job here... not only do the old slides and 8mm films look amazing, but the stories of the NWWC's formative years are told masterfully, mostly in the words of individuals themselves. It's a real window into an era of Tasmanian bushwalking that for both better and worse simply doesn't exist anymore. Two and a half hours went by oh so quickly.

Oh, and if you're a photographer it'll make you wish Kodak still made/processed Kodachrome. Man that s--t slaps
