Mmm, I doubt it eggs (I've occasionally been wrong before though ). I've been there a few times and don't recall a view like this. I posted an image from above LC earlier in the game, looking south-ish, which gives an idea. From memory it drops away sharply beyond Cootapatamba hut, which is well below the lake on an open alpine "plain".

No, NNW has used the term before but I can't determine what it means.

Should we be thinking Bogong High Plains?

Mt Jim?

Perhaps the area between Pretty Valley Dam and Mt. Cope?

I think it might be just below the peak of Mt Jagungal, looking south.

My apologies. I was suddenly interrupted and have had no chance to get back to this. If that happens again (which is quite possible, I'm afraid), just forget about it and let the next person in submit a photo.
Dubberland, for those of you unaccustomed to my slang, is NSW.
Despite my intransigence, Tony has managed to work it out. Jagungal it is, looking roughly south eastish, toward the Bull Peaks.

Thanks NNW,

You had me stumped for a while, but a check of some old photos I found some similar rock and then reconised the valley.

This next one is in NSW (funny that) I am at an old mining site in KNP where am I.

Hi wobbly,

Yes it is Greymare digging, a fascinating place to visit.

Over to you.

(great tony, it was a rough guess, off to find a map  )

Thanks Tony- I was almost at Greymare years ago on a walk from Round Mt to Dead Horse Gap. Two of us sidetracked to Greymare and I remember them mentioning the old mining gear - still a lucky guess and I had to check the name on my maps.

What feature am I on top of in Queensland?

I guess I was a bit quick replying - but I doubt it was all that easy.
Its only that we have had some bushwalk.com discussion about the track not that long ago.

A bit of a different approach - what am I looking at in Queensland?

Carnarvon Gorge is correct

Top place, a few years ago I was standing at the lookout at the head of the Carnarvon Gorge (right side in the photo) and two FA18 jet fighters came past at eye level, they proceeded up the gorge at the top ground level, the rangers where fuming as they where worried that as the sand stone in that area is so fragile the noise of the jets could cause some large boulders to dislodge, there where a lot of visitors around at the time, fortunately nothing happened. A few years before the Air force had been using Carnarvon Gorge for training flights, for safety reasons the rangers had protested and though they had stopped it.

Six foot track?

Not much to go on!

I agree with NSW. There's a double cliffline, so one of the bigger valleys. I'd be guessing the Bluies, and the Grose over the Jamison, Wolgan or Capertee. So let's try the Perrys Lookdown Track

Sorry gayet, yes it is in NSW .

Not the Six Foot Track BgM, although it is in the Blue Mountains region.

Yes, you guessed it Tom. Probably halfway up Perrys track overlooking Grose/Govetts area. I needed to stop for a drink/rest after an overnight trip to Acacia Flat about 6 weeks ago. Your turn...
