Yes, that's it! A magnificent vantage point to view both inside and beyond the rainforest canopy. Your turn :-)

This is a pic of my mate Paul (hand in scroggin bag) and me, at about the mid-point of a three day walk in NSW. We have just climbed up a killer of a ridge and are resting at the top. What is the name of the mountain we are on? (there is an historic connection with the region of Tas-man’s photo)

Unfortunate that, but I figure you need to have a fair idea of where something is before you can find it on my site. Otherwise you're looking through 30000 photos!

chinaman long beach? - track goes towards enterance point?

Re: Game: Where-is-it (Aussie)

Fri 03 Jun, 2011 8:26 am

Chinaman's long beach might (only might) be visible in the distance but i'm only 30-40 mins from asphalt.

Re: Game: Where-is-it (Aussie)

Asphalt would run through the Park Entrance point - is there a track to the coast from there?
Otherwise you are heading up towards Yanakie / Duck Point again - which is "a long way off".

Re: Game: Where-is-it (Aussie)

Fri 03 Jun, 2011 12:52 pm

yes there is asphalt at the park entrance and there are indeed tracks to the coast from there and they aren't long ones either

Its a Long shot but I could Telegraph my location by saying these is something White to my left

Re: Game: Where-is-it (Aussie)

Fri 03 Jun, 2011 4:34 pm

Are you actually on Long Island?
[not sure about Telegraph and White - but I don't have a detailed map of the area.]

Edit - the White is probably the extensive dunes along the beach just down from the park boundary.
2nd Edit - you are actually looking at Long Island from the beach! - I did not pick up on that at the first drill down

Re: Game: Where-is-it (Aussie)

Fri 03 Jun, 2011 4:43 pm

Yay Eggs- I'm actually on the edge of the sand dunes you mention. The spot is between White Swamp and Telegraph swamp and the muddy thing I'm overlooking is Long Island. The dunes even had a few small perched lakes when I was there in Easter.

Over to you :D

That's kind - I will need to get a good map of the Prom - though the heavy demand and booking system puts me off a bit.
