Mt Zero I presume. Mt Stapleton amphitheater and Tiapan Wall (the orange bit) in the background.

Thanks Eggs. That part of The Gramps is such a great area for day walks and interesting scrambles.

This one is in NSW.

I thought as soon as you put this up - john will be right.
But then I tried to find some of my Manly photos - hmm I am sure I had more - particularly of a walk we did at South Head.

Anyway, from the few I dug up - I suspect the angle of this photo is quite sharp to get the jetty in view and the gap from South Head would be a bit larger than this.
Which leads me to think this is from Middle Head?

You're both in the right area but it is neither South nor Middle Head.

Not Shark Island.

Although it's probably a bit early for clues I can't help but point out that Manly Wharf is not visible in the photo.

It does help when you can drill into a photo for detail
I had been wondering if that was a headland rather than a jetty - which would suggest the near headland is actually South Head, but maybe not the tip.
This could be the view from The Gap

Not The Gap. Getting cooler. Think northern shores of the harbour.

Are you at Grotto Point off the Spit to Manly walk, looking past Dobroyd Head toward Smedleys Point/Manly Point?
Manly wharf would be out of shot to the left.

Just checked my photo of Manly from the pacific side - duh!!!
Too many similar looking high rises - but the trees match - woo hoo!
Perhaps from the North Head cliffs east of Shelley Beach and Bower Road?

I reckon you could be onto it eggs, good work. I just found an image from the southern end of Manly beach that also matches. I think there's a lot of zoom in the game shot. I kept thinking it couldn't be the ocean beach because the angle didn't look right. But the Norfolk pines kept bothering me, although they exist on the harbour side as well.

Well done Eggs. Blue Fish Point to be exact. The STP is above the bay in middle distance and Fairy Bower Headland just pokes its head up before the beach.

North Head under the cliffline is an amazing place. Whilst at times you can see the Sydney skyline the area is extremely isolated and at other times you could be just about anywhere.

I presume it is named after a fishing spot.

OK I'll put one up. Easy-ish from NSW. Name the two prominent peaks. Bonus points for naming the water course in the foreground and my location.

Here goes nothing. The first one maybe Mt Moollattoo, The Wedding Cake (local name, may not be real name) in the background, Lake Yarrunga (spelling?) in the foreground and no idea where you are standing.

According to Google Earth, you are on Wombat Hill lookout, looking East.

Partially correct Michael. Yes the pointed one in the front is Mt Moollattoo and the waterway below is Lake Yarrunga (possibly Yarrunga Creek at this point but close enough). I wasn't aware that that the mountain at the back was called The Wedding Cake (it's an appropriate description though). I'm looking for its real name. Clue - I've climbed it twice and have looked back from its escarpment to where I'm standing in this shot.

Correct Ian. I just need the real name of the mountain at the back.

Yes, Mt Carrialoo it is eggs. The walk up it has a bit of everything, steep walking, some scrambling and some trackless walking across the top. But that's another trip. This one was an easy FT walk to Wombat Hill LO near Morton trig.
Now I have a dilemma. I asked for the names of both peaks. michaelp was first with one of them and eggs now has the other. I doubt the rules cover this. I'm happy for either of you to post. Any other suggestions?

Yes, its Mt Carrialoo 687m on the left, but I have not been able to find an online NSW topo map yet that has a name for the 500m peak to the right of Mt Carrialoo :-(

tas-man - I think the reply for that is Mt Moollattoo ?? which michael proposed.

And I think tas-man should go next for all the effort he is putting in, although michael really was the first to cover the area as a whole.

Mt Moollattoo is correct. It can be found via http://lite.maps.nsw.gov.au/. Switch the view to topographic, type in Moollattoo under Place Names. That will take you to a location with that name. Zoom out slightly and scroll NNE from there and you'll find it.

Yes it has been a bit of team effort this time :). tas-man also accurately pinpointed my location so can post next.
I'll give my next turn to Michael if he wants it as he passed previously.
