That's Mount Saint Gwinear, near Baw Baw, correct?

Very correct, and a good way to start your forum life. Welcome.

On Mt Buffalo? Maybe somewhere around the Gorge or the Big Walk?
Thu 14 Nov, 2024 3:39 pm
I'll take it. It's looking down at the Buckland river from Chalwell Galleries.

In NSW.
Pretty unique landscape. I actually need help to name it. I've been to and I know exactly where it is, but I couldn't find what it is called.
This place give me a deeper impression than another relatively more well-known rock formation very closeby.

Thanks, and welcome to the game. Think I've seen similar, possibly from the View Point walk.
Something offbeat from the ACT:

- "Fog sculpture" by Fujiko Nakaya, Sculpture Garden, Australian National Gallery, Parkes ACT

I think we are at the National Gallery, in the sculpture garden.

It is Upper Endrick. A little north west of Battleship Rock. But "upper endrick basin" is a general name for the whole area right? I thought there must be a special name for these rock layers - "The Arena" or something

.

That's it, the short walk through the "Fog sculpture" garden by Fujiko Nakaya.
Interesting cool spot on a hot day if you're there when it's operating. Over to you.

Cheers John. A magical spot. It has tricked my photo app's AI before and made it into an 'in the woods' album.
This is in NSW:

Ettrema Creek?
Fri 15 Nov, 2024 12:45 pm
Yes. Waterholes at the camp site below Bullfrog Creek.

Thanks Chev, I haven't been there but seen plenty of reports.
Where was I getting holed up in a storm? NSW:

- Retreating towards Illawong Lodge from the vicinity of the Twynams during an electrical storm, Kosciuszko NP via Guthega NSW

Just a general term for the area... very distinctive. I'd like to traverse from that area up to bulee ck/picture canyon area (galloping Jim's route) but the regrowth is probably sheiser now

I was heading off track to one of the top 5 highest Aussie peaks (behind me) and had to turn back due to lightning strikes.

There is a structure and a building out of shot in the distance, on my right.
The peak I was heading for has a subsidiary peak, similarly named.

Always hard to say with that zoom lens of yours. Are you on Carruthers Spur?

No, but not too far away. Head ENE about 5 km via a body of water to find me.
My destination peaks are sort of halfway-ish between.

Lots of clues… Is the structure the bridge over the Snowy River and the building Illawong Lodge? Heading down from Twynam.

WAG as I haven't been up there. Maybe overlooking Corin Dam from Stockyard Spur or Little Ginini?
