yes

Not sure if you wanted more info but is it looking down towards Portage Bay?
Mon 16 Feb, 2015 7:50 am
That's enough info. Its hard to pick the location from that photo. Lochmara is on the left. From the hill south east of portage.

Thanks wayno.
Another from NZ. Where am I? For bonus points name the feature I am looking at.

Spot on eggs.
It's an amazing area and apart from the smell it's one of my favorite places that we have visited in NZ.
Over to you.

had to double check the map for that one to recall the names... when we were on the tour boat the guide misnamed it danae peak... which is right round the corner and down the end 6k's away and looks totally different,,, he went on about how he had studied the area.... um yeah not quite hard enough... in the 1700's there was a massive earthquake and landslide there which sent a big tsunamai down the fjord you can see a big split in the fault line up the mountain

NZ, name the geographical feature...

Meads Wall, Mt Ruapehu/Crater Lake walk?
Mon 16 Feb, 2015 8:40 pm
I have been to Meads Wall, and that doesn't look right.
With a back pack on - I would suspect it is on the Tongariro Alpine crossing - perhaps high up given the base of ice they are on.
But I cannot place it. Might even be on Taranaki?

not meads, not on tongariro

As I was starting to think - its on Taranaki.
And from the second angle - probably the Shark's Tooth, though both angles seem to have obscured its top parts.
Thu 19 Feb, 2015 3:16 pm
right mountain, wrong name
Thu 19 Feb, 2015 8:22 pm
Maybe you are not yet in the crater - in which case, would it be the Lizard?
Edit - looked at lots of photos now.
Unless the locals have a funny name for it - all I can come up with is the Taranaki Crater and its wall.
Every shot like this one is basically people just entering the carter area.
